Mike's Landscaping did an amazing remodel on our backyard. For years our backyard was nothing but weeds and dead grass.   We kind of had an idea of what  we wanted and Mike exceeded our expectations.  He really has an eye for landscape layouts.  We valued his opinion and are extremely pleased with the outcome. I have known MIKE for close to 20 years. He began doing  the mowing of my front and backyard. I hired him to do my landscaping this past year and he did an excellent job. Mike's Landscaping is completing a transformation of our front yard including buried PE piping (versus surface black tubing) with pop-up sprinklers. The project included adding and extending rock walls and adding deer resistant plants that will provide flowering and colors throughout the year. Mike’s Landscaping recently completed a full renovation of our front yard. The project involved removing the existing lawn and plants, replacing our three-car driveway, and rebuilding both the front porch and side entry porch. They also installed a new irrigation system and added a variety of trees, shrubs, and groundcover. Mike is personable, hardworking, meticulous, and honest. He communicated clearly throughout the process, providing both short- and long-range schedules. We appreciated that he worked side by side with his crew, maintaining excellent rapport with them. We had three independent quotes for our backyard upgrade all within the same price range. We chose Mike over the others because he followed up on all our questions; he was not pushy; he seemed to understand what we were trying to do. Once he and his crew started work we were impressed by their work ethics. Mike was with them all the time rather than as a remote manager. He kept us up to date on the schedule especially as it applied to concrete pouring. As the crew had to come through an established part of our front yard landscaping he repaired any damage that was caused. We were so impressed by him and his team we added some extra upgrades as well. Our project included removing existing stone walkways and a wall, part of a concrete deck and several existing trees and shrubs; extending the deck, installing new steps to an existing fire pit, building a new pergola, a new concrete path and stone/rock pathway; installing new trees and shrubbery with all the irrigation. We have had several contractors over the years but working with Mike was a pleasure. He and his crew are were always pleasant when dealing with changes or clarifications to the design when needed. Mike is very meticulous and knowledgeable; his design and other recommendations were absolutely spot on. He is an excellent communicator, and, above all else, a very decent and nice guy, who's a pleasure to work with. I’m a retired old guy. I was very impressed with Mike and his 2 man crew. Mike worked WITH his crew. This landscape was on a 5 acre parcel with oak trees. He listened to our concerns: deer resistant plants, no ground cover (rattlesnakes), and drought resistant. He sent us a list of plants and trees that we could look at online. Also because of all the oak trees he based putting plants according to sun exposure. He also installed a new WiFi timer and set it up for watering. I was outside the whole time they were working. I was a CDF fire captain who ran a 17 man inmate crew for 25 years so I know what hard and efficient workers are.  Mike kept me up to date on everything through text. Mike has done multiple projects for us on our 1-acre lot in El Dorado Hills including an entire rework/redesign of our landscaping. His work is impressive. His crew is dedicated and gets the job done. Mike is straightforward and honest about costs and whether a particular idea will work.  He is competitively priced and was substantially less than some of the "big guys" in the area. He works to find the best deals from his suppliers to reduce the cost of the project rather than to pocket extra money. He can tackle any landscaping job including complex hardscape with block, stone, and concrete. He also has people who can do articifial turf, ponds, and other niche items.
